Day 1 - Taichung (25 Sep 2014)

First of all, happy birthday to myself! I am older by another year again!
And today, Mr Lee & I have flown to Taiwan. The last time I came to Taiwan was 8 years ago! After my persuasion, Mr Lee finally agreed to come to Taiwan with me this time round.
Our poor kids are in SG, under the care of my in-laws. We are really lucky and appreciate that our parents are willing to help us.

We took photo at the photo booth at T1 at Changi Airport again.
The plane ride is around 4.5 hours. So after we reached the airport, we met this uncle who has passed the rental car to us. And yes, we are driving around Taichung & Taipei this time round. Before we start this holiday, Mr Lee has watched a few videos in Youtube about the driving in Taiwan. He wants to get himself familiarise with the traffic situation in Taiwan because it is left-hand drive and all the road names are in freaking Chinese. There are also English names on the road signs but they are quite small. So we relied a lot on the GPS too, but sometimes the GPS is unstable and we have made a few wrong rounds.

View from our room.
We stayed at Splendor Hotel in Taichung.
The location is good as it is quite near to the famous Fengjia Night Market.
And all our food trail starts.
 Eat & Eat
We walked for around 2 hours in the night market and we are so full after eating all these junk foods.
The last time I came here was 8 years ago and I told Mr Lee this is my favourite night market in Taiwan. It is not so crowded and there is a good mixture of stuff to see.
