Last weekend, Mr Lee and I went to Jakarta. We took the flight on the Friday morning.
Our first lunch in Indonesia is actually Vietnamese noodles at Nam Nam instead of Ayam Penyet. Super hungry and we ordered quite a few. The set lunch includes Vietnamese Noodles, prawn wanton and coffee that cost SGD7. Now then I realize that SG is super expensive!!!
Seriously after looking the prices in the menu, I realize that the magnum ice-cream is super over-priced. And the food in the menu is very interesting.
Super sinful dessert but 吃了再来说.
End up we had a wine session at the hotel lounge because we are attracted by the nice songs played by the band. It had been ages since we can sit down in a lounge and listen to music.
See how grand the stage is. We saw many "beehives" around me because the tai tai over there style their hair so high and we almost have to wear sunglasses there because of their super bright diamonds around their neck.
Selfie while waiting for the bride and groom to march in. The couple is so cute! They danced and marched in together. They also invited their friends to dance together, is like a flash mob which is quite popular in those Ang Moh country.
Pretty bride right? I realize that most of the Indonesian Chinese girls are super pretty and slim. Thank god Mr Lee is not in Indonesia, I confirm won't trust him.
And this guy sings really well! He is my friend's bff and we didn't know he is the winner for the Voice of Indonesia competition until my friend told us before we left the airport. Luckily, I manage to take a photo of him. If I knew it earlier, I could have ask him to take a photo with me. :(
At last a photo with the couple to show that we have attended their wedding. Heehee!

The next morning, we were waken up this huge group of people.
Because it's their Marathon!
Hope that we can travel again for holidays but I wanna bring along the kids for the next flight trip. :)
It's our first time to go Jakarta. We went there to attend my ex-colleague's wedding. So we are quite excited too.
The plane flight is around 1.5 hours, so surprisingly it's the same duration to Phuket too. It took awhile to get our luggage and my friend has arranged his colleague to pick us from the airport.
The jam in Jakarta is pretty bad so it took us around 1.5 hour from the airport to the hotel.
The view from our hotel is quite nice and we are facing the main roundabout in Jakarta.
The room is nice and spacious. It's a pity that we only stayed there for 2 nights.
So while my friend is busy preparing for his wedding, Mr Lee and I went to walk around at Plaza Indonesia which is just below our hotel. Oh ya! By the way, we are staying at Grand Hyatt.
After our lunch, met my friend awhile to pass him 美珍香肉干 and he recommends us to go to Grand Indonesia instead. Because the stuff are not that atas which I totally agree. The mall, Plaza Indonesia reminds me of the combination of Ion Orchard and Ngee Ann City.
So we went to Grand Indonesia to straighten my fringe. After that, we saw Mr Lee's favorite ice-cream brand cafe, Magnum cafe.
Then I start to be a mountain tortoise again that keep asking to take photo. :p
Then we went to the cafe to have some bites and dessert. We were there around evening.
After our sinful dessert, we went to walk around the mall before heading back to our hotel.
Lousy iPhone camera. Cannot take a clearer picture. Or should I say the photographer is lousy? :p Anyway, the band is singing very well.
On the following day, we went for a half a day spa at another service apartment which is just opposite to where we stay. So we were there since 10am and we finished our spa at around 5pm. The half day spa includes lunch too and it only cost us less than SGD 250 per person.
So after our spa, we rushed back to our hotel for a shower and get ready for my friend's wedding. That's the objective of why we are in Jakarta right.
The decoration is super grand and when we stepped in, both of us are like "wow"! How come I look as if I have a big tummy in this photo? Wa Lao! Seriously, I cannot wear high waist dress or baby doll dress. I gonna suck in my tummy all the time orelse people is going to let their seats to me in MRT.
It's a really eye-opener experience for the both of us.
So after their dance, the couple went up to the stage, the guests will queue up and go up to congrat to them.
And we manage to take a selfie with them when the queue behind us is shorter.
And luckily he still okay with a fat wife now. :p
Ok, back to the wedding. The couple also have a live band playing at their wedding.
So wedding is a big event in Indonesia which is why they spent so much on the decoration. It's a buffet style dinner and only important people will have a proper table and chair to sit, like our Chinese wedding red table. So the rest of us will be standing throughout the wedding. I would say the wedding is a mixture of Malay, western and Chinese.
My legs are super tired because it's been ages since I am standing for so long with heels. So when I visited the toilet, I am so glad that I have a chance to sit for awhile on the toilet bowl.
After the wedding, we went to our hotel lounge again to listen to music. This time round we only ordered cocktail while enjoying the music.

Was trying out the app "Mei Tu Xiu Xiu" camera to take a selfie of myself. Surprisingly that this app is damn good!!! I look machiam some chio bu. But... Damn fake lah, bcos I don't look like that in real life. :(
And so fast that we left on the following day after the wedding dinner. My friend and his friend fetch us to the airport despite the bad traffic in Jakarta. There's no public transport in Jakarta which explains why the jam is so bad. Imagine there are 20 people in your office and everyone drives to work.
Sad to the max that our short vacation is over and we are back to our reality of the the daily hectic work.
