This year, it is Singapore's 50th birthday. The whole year, there are many on-going promotions and celebrations for SG50. And I have been seeing many articles regarding SG50 and how Singapore has gone through for these 50 years.
Suddenly I feel very proud to be a Singaporean. All thanks to our pioneer generation and Mr Lee Kuan Yew who has built this nation together.
So last week is the long weekend from Fri to Mon. And last Thurs I have taken leave to attend some matters. So in the morn, I went to Belle's school to see her celebrating National Day in school.
Can you spot her? She is very enthusiastic in singing the national day songs.
On Friday, Mr Lee and I went to meet our friends for lunch at Mariott Hotel, the buffet spread is quite good. So while our hubbies are talking about guys' stuff, we ladies take our own selfie photo. :)
Then in the evening, we went to Mr Lee's sis' house for dinner. They have prepared Sarawak laksa for us. Mr Lee's cousin also came and joined us for dinner with her 2 kids.
Kids' selfie. The whole house was so noisy on that evening.
On the following day, we went to my uncle's club house because we have a family gathering on that day. Such a coincidence that most of my relatives are wearing red and white too to celebrate national day.
As usual, selfie with the youngest Miss Lee.
Selfie with the elder Miss Lee.
Belle keeps playing with the dog that my cousin has brought. She is not afraid of small dog and the poor dog has to keep entertaining Belle on that day. But Mr Lee is right, kids are supposed to be like that. I mean playing with dog rather than playing with iPad which we saw my nieces and nephews are doing that.
2 generations of sisters' love.
不放过 Mr Lee to take selfie together. :p
The past 2 days have been keep eating and eating. Having laksa and chicken rice on the same day and 2 days of continuos of different kind of laksa. I totally lost count of the total calories I have taken.
On the National Day, we all stayed at home to watch NDP because we don't want to join the crowd. My helper is so happy that it's free to take the public transports on that day. I feel my helper is more happening than us. Haha!
On Monday, we went to Art Science Museum. We didn't go to see Dreamworks Animation because it's crowded plus need to pay money. So we went to see the Singapore stories at level 3. It's showing the old Straits Times articles about the old Singapore which is quite interesting.
Mikayla never fail to stop moving around the museum. I told Mr Lee that we cannot read the articles in peace because of these 2 kids.
After that, we went to Asian Civilisations Museum. The exhibits are super chim that I hardly understand. There is only a small room with the old Singapore exhibits that displays the first SQ kebaya and other stuff.
We are all super tired after walking around the museums. And we also realized that most of the shops are not open at Raffles Place on public holiday. Luckily, we manage to find a cafe to have our perk coffee break.
Selfie again with Miss Lee at the cafe while Belle is sleeping in the pram.
Selfie with Belle while Mikayla is sleeping in the car on our way home.
Even though we did not go overseas in this long weekend, I feel that we had spent a good time in Singapore.
A fruitful Golden Jubilee Weekend.
